PROGRAM

BOTTLES INTO THE SEA

WHAT IS IT?

Bottles into the Sea was born in 2017 through the initiative of Ana Lúcia Caetano and embraced by several other volunteers, with the purpose of contributing to the

awakening the feeling of brotherhood in children and young people in the school environment, preparing them to be agents of change in the world.

In April 2021, the Fraternity without Borders welcomed this initiative and turned it into a FSF Educational Program: Bottles into the Sea Program.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Any legally recognized school, located in Brazil or abroad (if providing at least one Portuguese speaker representative of the institution).

Children from enrolled schools from Kindergarten to High School.

The Program is 100% free and voluntary.

HOW IT WORKS?

The change we want to see in the world can begin with a simple act:

Get a little bottle “thrown into the sea” and take to your school. That’s right! Remember the old stories, when little bottles were thrown into the sea asking for help? Together, we can “collect” several of these little bottles and send help to those who need it most, providing education for children welcomed in FSF projects and also, experiencing and encouraging our fraternity from an early age!

MODALITY A

Children make their donations, according to their wishes and possibilities, spontaneously, in the bottles of the Program installed in strategic areas of the school

Every six months, the school reverts the funds to the FSF via bank deposit or transfer, sending proof of payment and informing the destination of the donation to Garrafasaomar@fraternidadesemfronteiras.org.br or clicking here.

Funds are sent to build schools in FSF projects, for children who would not have access to education if it weren’t for this and for other initiatives, for the sponsorship of FSF projects; and also for the acquisition of school materials and pedagogical support in educational programs developed in FSF projects.

Every year, an FSF volunteer presents the results of the Program to schools, showing the schools built and how children and adolescents are contributing to a better world.

MODALITY B

Children sanitize disposable bottle caps, which they use during a meal and that would be thrown away, and leave them at the Program’s collection points, installed in strategic areas of the school

The school sends them every six months for recycling and reverts the funds to the FSF via bank deposit or transfer, sending proof of payment and informing the destination of the donation to Garrafasaomar@fraternidadesemfronteiras.org.br or clicking here.

TO

2. Attend the online meeting (usually semiannual) for the detailed presentation of the Program. The date will be announced via email, after school registration and the participant will always be invited to the closer meeting after the registration.

3. Choose the type(s) of membership and fill out the Participation Commitment form (only the institution that carries out this phase of the process will be considered enrolled in the Program).

4. Receive the planning to be developed with students, staff and parents, as well as the guidance material for making the bottles and engagement of students.

5. Choose and make available the Bottles into the Sea in strategic locations of the school. Now just get started and spread fraternity!
