PROJECT UPDATE

MARCH TO JUNE 2024

NEW SHELTERED PEOPLE

In the first half of 2024, the Butterfly Garden Project sheltered 16 new patients, including five babies! Currently, there are 155 sheltered patients and a waiting list of 16 people waiting for new sponsorships so that they can start receiving care and all the assistance from the project. Sponsorship is essential for the sustainability of Garden of Butterflies, and for strategic and financial planning for new patients.

NEW DIGITAL PLATFORM

The coordinators of the Garden of Butterflies project have taken a very important step to speed up the supply of the Love Boxes delivered every month with medicines and hygiene items for the sheltered people. They have implemented an online tool for requesting the Box of Love, which used to be done manually. It's e-commerce, where the family enters the sheltered person's login and password and places the order electronically, in a more organized and faster way. But, of course, everything is monitored by the nurses, nutritionist and pharmacist.

CARAVAN

This year, in May, the first Butterfly Garden Caravan took place! It was a very intense week of exchange and learning. The caravanners had the opportunity to experience all the project’s activities, meet and socialize with the Butterflies, learn all about the history of the Butterfly Garden and learn more about Epidermolysis Bullosa.

CARAVAN II

The second caravan for the Butterfly Garden Project already has a date and registration is open. It will take place from July 28 to August 4, 2024. It is important to clarify that this caravan is not organized by the FWB but by the project, which is supported by the Fraternity. We are sure that it will be a very rich experience for all the participants!

ONLINE BAZAAR

A new initiative of the Jardim das Borboletas project is to make lives on Instagram, publicizing the cause and the opportunities of the bazaar! 😉

THE CRYSTAL SLIPPER

"The little toes without nails, protections of all kinds, a lot of calm and patience to be put on... After 11 months, we decided to give the little shoe a single chance, and with a lot of agony, you agreed to wear it. May the pain of wearing a simple shoe not become routine. May all the fear and insecurity of hurting, only to decide not to wear them in the end, disappear in the blink of an eye. May all the little shoes become an option to compose the look, and not just the sock. May you feel beautiful from your fingertips to your hair. May EB not limit you from being happy, my child!", Maria Luiza Macedo Oliveira, Sophia’s mother, sheltered by Jardim das Borboletas.
